Gary Tucker and I drove over to CSB on Saturday (Sept 3) trying to catch sideshore conditions. The wind was so flukey, it looked like it would be hard to make it out. Squalls came through and kicked it up, but in 15 min, it would go way offshore, and die completely in the break. Raining a lot, and freezing cold standing there. Two surfers drove all the way from Gainesville, but the surf was pretty closed out, and not very good form. They were pretty pissed about the conditions. About shoulder high on the inside, and head on the outside break. Of course it blew hard today (30-45) at Alligator Pt, and waves were head on the outside. Maxed on a 3.7 and the JP Twinser/Quad 74 worked very well in very tough conditions. Pretty dead onshore, so a bit tricky making it out (hard to believe, eh). Yesterday at AP was 19-24 SE mostly, with a few nice waist-high waves. If it goes WSW on Tues, then SGI may be doable. If your suscribe to iwindsurf, they have a meter on SGI, although it is down sporadically.

Tides a challenge this weekend but Shell Point may be best option. Looks like the rough weather may be more to the west of Apalachee bay.
