Sail On, Lee Chapin

Apr 22, 2019 by LunarU4EA

Sailors, it is with much sadness that I write to inform of the passing of Lee Chapin. Lee will be missed greatly by this club in every aspect, as he put in so much time, effort, and expertise. Though many of you knew him better than I, he left a huge impression on me. I always made sure beer truck crew knew who he was, in case of any issue that might come up. Not only could he fix a malfunctioning keg tap, run a race, and provide a club history lesson, he sure as hell knew how to have a good time. But better yet, when Lee spoke, people would listen. It is because of club foundations like Lee Chapin that someone as frazzled as me can even hold the office of Commodore. Our hearts go out to Leah and the family. Rest In Peace, Lee Chapin, and sail on!
