Un-Official 2013 Wind Ceremony Thread

Mar 17, 2013 by alexb

Wassup! Wassup!!
So I'm checking up on the wind for the Wind Ceremony this coming Saturday. Looking at the predicti.... err, lies, from the windlies dot com and see this:

wind

I"m starting to drooool now! 38mph GUSTS!!! YES!!!

While I'm spamming everyone, thought I'd let you know that there's a good looking Starboard Kombat 105L on Jax Craigslist. Says it's an '06 but it's an '05 since there were no 105" in 2006. Check starboard site for more info.

It's a crossover wave/freeride, would look good on Sat with those 30mph winds. I want it but have too many boards in the quiver. Still... it would fit perfectly in the wave quiver: 88L, 96L, 105L, 112L. ... Mmmmmm

Hey Bill,

Since you snagged the Kombat and relieved me of more board purchases (not sure if to hate you or thank you still) I think you may be interested in this board since you're looking for a SUP and a super light wind board. :) I want this board too.
but...I...just...don't...need...any...more...boards....AHH!!...tempting

It's a simlar concept as the Serenity and Starboard advertises it on the same page
http://www.star-board.com/SpringSummer2011/products/board_serenity.php

It's just designed to be more of a SUP since it's a little wider. Though around the same volume as my MK1 serenity. The principal is the same with the hull design. If I didn't have the 14' Naish Glide, I'd probably be picking it up. Bit of a far drive...

Not this weekend. :) Maybe if it's still available in a week or two and I'm in Jax I might do a craigslist 'lo-ball' on it. Though I'm REALLY hoping someone picks it up before then, I don't have room for more boards. It's already hard enough to choose what comes to the beach and what stays at home. Then I get there and keep wishing I had brought the latter.

Not me! I would never make that mistake and doom myself to windless days. Just fishing to see if Alex was headed that way to scoop up that Kombat

The weather's definitely looking crappy for Saturday. Still saying lots of wind though. I think the computer models go out of whack when they computate all the bad weather.

" WINDS AND SEAS WILL GRADUALLY RISE AND FALL ABOVE AND BELOW HEADLINE CONDITIONS OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS DUE TO AN ACTIVE WEATHER PATTERN. ON AND OFF RAIN IS ALSO EXPECTED WITH THE MOST RAIN FALLING OVER THE WEEKEND." Not the most convincing forecast, may be a good weekend to go to Jacksonville

Don't jinx it Bill! I need my fix!

I'm not believing that forecast, nor is NOAA. That board looks sweet though
