I'm also wondering how hot it would get. Most of your upper body would be covered with a rubber/plastic inflatable bag. Might get annoying after a while. I think one of these http://goo.gl/rYF58 would be a lot more comfortable and easier to put on / take off.

I've seen a few inflatable life vests and thought about getting one for my SUP. The problem with inflatable life vests is that if you're hurt, become unconscious or just can't get to the pull string, they won't work. If you get the one that inflates on water contact, they're only good for boat use where you don't plan on getting wet. The video is a bit silly as it says it takes "four breaths" of air to fill the vest. I don't think four breaths would fill up one of those arm floaters that kids use. Granted the vest looks comfortable but if you're able bodied and you haven't lost the board, you can use the board to float. If it's Coast Guard certified, it would be a nice use for areas where a life vest is a requirement. It looks to be pretty new, I can't find a price on one.
