where are the waves?

Apr 22, 2012 by windfool

Hey, windy today. Thinking of launching off A Point Harbor, but are there wave sailing spots around A point in a NNW wind?

There was some wave over at CSB, but it turned sideon about the time we got there at 2, and Mexico Beach had virtually no wave but was side, and blowing 10-35 at Beacon Hill, I passed but GT bounced around a bit. There are no wave spots around Allig PT or Allig Harbor on a NW, although if it really cranks, there can be some good ramps out in the middle of the bay where there are some shoals. But it has to be about 25.

I'm over at alligator point right now at the public boat ramp, on the inlet side. Its blowing and I'm on the 88L and a 5.0m at this moment. Was on the kona and a 7.5m earlier then dropped down to a 6.6. Its holy and there are waves but its not a surf break. Still lovin it though. :) finally brought almost all the sails but damnit now I'm rerigging too much. Lol
